Ca Germanies is a family project capable of redesigning a house in a multi-family block of flats. The aim was to open up the house, redistribute the living spaces, update them and rethink them for a new family. The idea was to create an open-plan day area with a gazebo-living room-kitchen that would form part of the same space with the ability to communicate visually. At the same time, divisions have been designed that allow these uses to be spatially divided if necessary.
In the same way, the night area has been divided into 2 large zones. The adult area, with an en-suite bathroom, and the children’s area. As regards the 2 children’s rooms, these are similar and of identical dimensions and can share the study area if required, crossing a partition wall larger than the others, allowing direct communication between them.
As far as the materiality is concerned, abstraction has been sought with materials such as oak wood and ribbed glass with the sincerity of other elements such as the original design that was used for the execution of the structure of the building like any other. So the core of this sober habitat is designed as a large wooden box that houses the more rigid elements of the roof and installations, becoming a great connecting thread from the day area to the night area. The combination has been sought with colours that break up the uniformity with elements of furniture and textiles.
